Well, its been a rocky road for the first season of the Secret Circle but as of yesterday the CW have officially announced that it will not be returning for a second run. It’s a frustrating revelation especially after an edge of your seat climax to the first season and the groundwork being laid for the second, but ratings have not been high enough and ultimately thats would the networks look at. Could they have been higher? Perhaps if the initial momentum wasn’t wasnt lost after the mini story arc which lead to Nicks ‘death’ in episode 6 – after which a new story had to be created and we went from demons to witch hunters as well as getting to know an ambiguous new character in the form of Nick’s brother Jake. This could have caused a lot of viewers to switch off, along with the random popping in and out of the grown-ups who seemed to let their teenage offspring to do whatever they liked in Chance Harbor.
Overall the show promised much be really didnt deliver. Even John Blackwell proved to be something of a letdown when first introduced, although he lived up to his reputation in the finale.
THe CW have ordred 5 new scripted dramas for next season so I suppose something had to give.

I cannot believe they are not making a second series! I am completely hooked and don’t want it to end yet.
I think a problem with viewing maybe because of its channel not everone can access it, maybe it could be aired on a mainstream channel to see if that changes viewing numbers.

Absolutely devastated, I came online today eager to find out when the next series starts and then this is what I find. I agree with Del, if it was on channel 1-5 more people would watch it please please please please bring it back

No it can’t, I agree with Kayleigh, it might have more views if it was on 1-5. Am from the UK n I told every1 about it and every1 I no has watched it. But they can’t just end it there we need to no what’s going to happen with blackwell’s other kids and what the letter means from jakes granddad. Please let it cum back on. No Abigail, if the CW have cancelled it, it won’t be made at all any more or shown in the uk other than reruns of the first series unless a miracle happens and viewers manage to get it back on somehow cause of unforeseen popularity.
